Job Fair

I don't know why I can not leave comments on my blog. Very strange website. But it's good that the blogspot is released again and I can continue my posts.......

As all of you are interested in my pictures, I will try my best to take more. One of the reason I don't want to take pictures because sometimes it's embarrassing for a girl to take pictures in public. Whenever I took my camera out, people will all staring at me to see what I am doing.

One month ago, I attended a job fair my company participated. International Exhibition Center is the biggest Exhibition center in Beijing. It holds most of the big exhibitions in Beijing like
the ongoing International Automobile Exhibition, job fairs which hold regularly.

The numbers for Chinese graduates are increasing enormous every year. For the huge population in China, you can tell how hard to find a job these years. The commodity prices is increasing and the salary is decreasing.

Because my company was at the beginning, we needed to hire more employees. Like sales, operation, driver, receptionist etc. I went to the job fair for two days. Like every job fair, it was crammed with all job hunters. In the two days, we got at least 500 applicant for just 10 positions. But rarely of them were meet the requirements for the position they applied.

This is the entrance of the exhibition center. In China, people come to the job fairs 95% are aged 20-35. People retired early compare in Western countries, usually at 45-55.

The Update

Since blogspot was blocked in China again. I could access luolingling.blospot.com but I could not leave comments. I alsocould not access blogspot.com to update my posts. Luckily this morning I found it's accessible...hopefully it won't be blocked again.

In the future, I think I will take pictures less and write more because of my limited time. It will be more like a personal diary. I hope you will have enough patience to understand my English.

Well, Beijing is starting to get cold. I already moved out from my sister’s. I share an apartment which has two rooms with another girl who has her own barbershop. This place is located half way between my home and the office. It’s only half an hour by bus to the company. Now I can save 3 hours a day in travel time, 15 hours/ week. It’s good to live alone again. I used live by myself when I was in the university. Since I came to Beijing, I have lived with my sister for 2 years. My sister is a person who likes to take care of her family. We grew up and spent 2/3 of our time together. We went to the same elementary school, middle school and high school. She was one grade higher than me. Only during our university period did we live separately. I often say that she treats me more like my mom. Even if she is only 3 years older than me. So I am very happy to live by myself now. I can decorate my little room however I like and to be more independent, cook for myself. But I still go back to my sister on the weekend.

2006 should be a happy year. Many people will have gotten married this year. Since I came to my company, there were 4 man who have married in the past 4 months. Jake and Jiao Jiao also got engaged last week. The greatest news is my sister and her boyfriend Cao Hui are engaged too. Normally Chinese don’t have proposal ceremony like Westerners do, they usually just make plans about when to get married, which is less romantic. Cao Hui didn’t propose to my sister, they have been together for 5 years. They planed to move into another big house next year for their new home, and to have a baby in 2008.

My work goes smoothly. Nothing exciting, nothing specific. But this is life....
