Which Blood Type You Have?

I was just studying blood types, which I believe relate to people's personality. At least I found mine is just right for me- my blood is type A.

Here you can have a test, to see if it matches yours. Chinese people believe Twelve Constellation, but I am more into blood types. I have just asked my friends and most of their personalities are 80% matches to the blood group they belong to.

Do you believe in it? And which type do you have?

Beijing Roast Duck and Acrobatics

When travel to Beijing, except for visiting the Great Wall and Forbidden City etc. famous sight spots, eating Beijing Roast duck is a must. Quan Ju De Roast Duck is the most famous restaurant for roast duck all over the world, from world leaders to normal visitors. Here has it sayhttp://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/beijing/dinning/duck.htm.

As with most companies, my company likes Quan Ju de as one of the restaurant to host our guests. I would go sometimes as a companion. Last time I went was when the CEO's assistant was visiting. I do not eat meat as you know. But it was a pain when I was smelling the aroma while the cooks take the ducks to your table and slice them to pieces. They will give you a card with the numbers of the duck you had, we call it the poor duck's "ID".

The ducks were delicious, but the service wasn't that good in my opinion. Andy has made a comment on his blog about the service in Hong Kong http://theabc.typepad.com/my_weblog/2007/01/service.html. I have never been to Hong Kong so I don't know how the service is there. But in Beijing, the service especially at the international famous brand stores like Ports, Dior etc...is terrible. they give you a cold shoulder even tnough you bought expensive clothes from them. They always show you a cold face even though they are saying" Welcome". There's a ridiculous regulation that the brand stores must hire Beijing ID holders( Local people) as their employees.
While the office manager took our guest to the sight spots, he used my camera so I borrowed the acrobatics pictures. I have never been to this kind of show but would like to see it when it's available. They looks beautiful, aren't they? I hope I can be as flexible as those girls.

Sleepless in Beijing

I have tried many times to update the posts but failed to upload the pictures because of the internet problems caused by the Taiwan earthquake.

In the middle night, I finished watching Prison Break the first season. I tried 2 hours to sleep but couldn't close my eyes, I know tonight--I am sleepless.

I usually have no sleeping problem except on Sunday night when I slept most of the time in the day time. I love sleeping, but I will not force myself to sleep when I don't feel like it. So tonight I tried to watch TV and there were all commercials like breast enlarger, skin whitening, weight losing pills etc fake stuff. I turned on the computer, still nothing to do. Thought about the blog, maybe it's a good time to write something as I haven't updated for a couple days. I know writing in the middle night is a dangerous thing because it's a time that you feel most relaxed and easy to open up your secrets.

As a public blog, many people I know or I don't know are reading it, sometimes I hope I didn't make my blog public so I can write something more private. Like my Holland manager, he has a private blog which is open only to his family and relatives. One friend of mine has asked me " Don't you feel uncomfortable with strangers reading your private thoughts". Well, I do not think my blog is too private(except this entry). And it feels good to express a little of my feelings when I don't have many friends in Beijing and my time is limited by work and family. The most important thing for me is I got to know many friends from all over the world through my blog, even i never met them in real life but I feel really happy to know some people care about me on the other side of the world.

And for those reasons, thats why bloging is very popular right now. Every one writes on the net, including my brother-in-law's 12 years old daughter. We are living in a fast-paced world, we need balance. For me, writing blog is the balance between my work, family and life.

Oh, thinking about why I am sleepless? I think because the spring festival is coming, I think too much right now. Thinking about my sister's wedding, The tickets, the movie I just watched, what vegetables to eat for tomorrow and the job....now i know people think more when they are older...
Writing too much tonight, I hope I will not delete it tomorrow morning when I wake up as we think different in the daytime and middle of the night.Good Night!

Not Enough Women?-Updated

I was just reading the paper that by 2020 , they reckon that there will be 30 million more men than women in China and there will be 30 million men who can not find a gf. http://www.csonline.com.cn/news1/1/200701/12/t20070112_23655.htm(Chinese)

Really? So single women like me should be happy? But why? From what I can see there are more single women in China than single men? At least in my company males are mostly married and females are mostly single. Four men got married since I came to my company within the past half year. And the one-child families I know are mostly girls not boys......

The truth is that there are more and more singles in the big cities like Beijing, shanghai. As people are busy working, their social lives are limited. Thats why net dating websites and TV dating programmes are popular right now, but who wants to try those if they have chance to meet their other half? I won't!

New Year Dinner

Chinese companies will take their staff to dinner or Karaoke on New Year. My company is no exception.

We went to a restaurant near the office. I didn't eat anything but fruits and some vegetables. As you can see they are mostly meat, this is the typical food we have in Beijing. Every time almost the same dishes. But I enjoyed the party with my colleagues. The thing I don't like is Chinese people always like to order too much food. Most of the time they can just eat very small parts of it. It's a big waste. I remember the my first time had dinner with a foreign friend, I was surprised he only ordered 3 dishes for 3 people. If a Chinese man takes you out, he probably will order at least 5 dishes.

Have been a vegetarian for over one month now, during that time, I only tried meat once(it was with my boss, I had no choice). I feel good about it, I don't think being a vegetarian can help me lose weight. But some people have said I look healthier. I decided not to give up fish though.

Spring Festival is coming soon. Time goes fast, I don't know if you still remember the posts from last year's Spring festival? There were nice memories, my family had a great time in Beijing. This year I will go back to Sichuan get together with my family again. I am looking forward to seeing my little cute niece, I promise I will bring back some interesting pictures from my sister's wedding and my hometown. It has been over one year since I started blogging, I am very grateful for all of your support. Cheers!
