The Wedding

June 3rd. We attended my colleague’s wedding, which was held in a restaurant, as are most Chinese weddings. What a coincidence, it was also my birthday, as well. It always happens on this date, that I am joining some event with people involved—so even though I was not that familiar with my colleague, the groom, it became another memorable birthday for me.
A Chinese wedding is usually held at a restaurant. Guests are invited to meet for lunch. At the wedding, we do not wear clothes as formal as those in the West, just whatever we feel good wearing. Nowadays, girls are more likely to wear skirts. The first picture was taken of the whole family of the newlyweds and their close friends. The background you see is the front door to the restaurant. At around 9 a.m., the groom went with a parade of cars to pick-up the bride. At about 12 noon, they arrived at the restaurant for the ceremony. Here, I finally have a picture with my full face. After the wedding, the girls from my company had their pictures taken. Recently, I was successful in losing 3 KG, which has affected my mood for the better. Except for the girl in yellow, the rest of us share an apartment. I do still go back to my sister’s on the weekends. Oh, my sister is expecting in August, I am going to be a two-child auntie.

Request to Western Customers

Update: Many thanks for your nice comments and great ideas! Now I have received a new assignment, which is to find out the different behaviors of Chinese and Western customers when they are contacting customer service, via Email, hotline, etc. What are their expectations towards customer service and how do customers usually act, polite, impatient, loud, etc.? Any ideas from you?

Blogspot has been blocked in China, so I cannot enter the comment area, but I can read all your comments via my email.

I am in the middle of doing a report on the demands Chinese and European customers have on the Express business. I tried to do a search on Google, but I think the best answers will come from my readers, or native Westerners. As most of my readers come from Western countries, I felt like you would be the best resource.

My question to you is, describe your requirements when you are shipping a parcel, and what are the most important considerations you have when choosing an Express company. Price? Transit times? Something else? Please note your country as well.

Many thanks! Next time I will post some pictures from my colleague’s wedding.

Awake

I want to thank all of you, who still return to my blog, after all these months of me being absent.

I knew I would return after a break, though I didn’t know when. Today is that day. I do not want to give up so easily.

There are not many reasons for me being away. I was just too tired and busy. My job is getting busier day by day. I work from Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

After this break, I wonder how many people are still here? Just wondering… I am sure next time I will come back with the pictures you are interested in.
